An excellent late Monday story drop from Brad Thor at Big Government

Through key intelligence sources in Afghanistan and Pakistan, I have just learned that reclusive Taliban leader and top Osama bin Laden ally, Mullah Omar has been taken into custody.

At the end of March, US Military Intelligence was informed by US operatives working in the Af/Pak theater on behalf of the D.O.D. that Omar had been detained by Pakistani authorities. One would assume that this would be passed up the chain and that the Secretary of Defense would have been alerted immediately. From what I am hearing, that may not have been the case.

I wonder if the Obama admin will want to Mirandize Omar? Or, perhaps a civilian trial at the NYC courthouse? Or, perhaps they could just leave the scumbag in Pakistani hands, and we can get real information out of him that will save human lives from these jihadist animals.

Interestingly, Thor points out that, apparently, no one told Hillary Clinton, who accused the Pakistan government of holding back on Osama and Omar. Speaking of Osama, remember this from the Nashville debate in 2008?

We will kill bin Laden; we will crush Al Qaeda. That has to be our biggest national security priority.

Yes, there is slightly more to the quote, but, as anyone who watched the debate remembers, he said it not as if “well, if we see him, we’ll do something,” but as a promise. He repeated it not long after being elected. We’re still waiting. Because it’s just not that easy, eh, chump? Seriously, what happened was he got distracted by health care and massive spending, he diverted resources, and ultimately bin Laden is still free, roaming the mountains of Pakistan in the northwest provinces there. Perhaps a bit less golfing and campaign events……no, continue with the campaign events. Pretty much everyone he backs nowadays loses.
