What George W. Bush Just Did at a Restaurant is Going VIRAL!

Given that George W. Bush is a classy guy, it’s no surprise that he did something like this.

Bush

From Western Journalism:

A Texas waitress was thrilled to get a 200 percent tip after serving former President George W. Bush and his wife but is now reaping the wrath of the Internet after going on Twitter and accusing Bush of perpetrating the terror attacks on September 11, 2001.

Waitress Leisa Smith waited on the former president and First Lady who left her with a generous $40 tip on a $21.47 bill. The former president and Laura Bush also took a photo with the young waitress.

Here’s where the story gets REALLY interesting. You see, the waitress quite naturally tweeted out that great photo with Bush and his wife and told everyone about his tip, but she added this comment.

911

Wow. Talk about returning evil for good.

Not long after Smith tweeted the picture, the post went viral and the she began getting slammed by hundreds of Twitter users.

…Many called the waitress disrespectful, insensitive, even stupid to accuse the president of such a heinous crime, especially after he was so kind to her.

…Still another Twitter user slammed the waitress for “gladly” taking Bush’s money then going on to “dog him on social media.” The Twitter user then said her actions were “disrespectful and uneducated. I hope you grow old and learn,” he said.

….The waitress got so much criticism she eventually came back to her Twitter account to explain herself.

“I have a couple of friends that use the meme a lot and they were the only ones I was expecting to see the tweet. I was just trying to get a laugh out of my friends but I in no way actually believe the conspiracy,”Smith told Mic.com.

Smith went on to insist Bush was “the sweetest person [she] ever met.”

Trying to stave off more attacks on Twitter, Smith told Mic.com, “I actually completely respect Bush and I don’t think he actually ‘did 9/11,’” Leisa said. “It was just a little tip at the huge joke that everyone says, and I didn’t expect anyone to see the tweet except my 200 followers at the time.”

It’s not really a “joke” to accuse a man of killing 3000 of his fellow citizens. It’s not funny, it’s not cute and even if no one but her “200 followers at the time” had seen it, it wouldn’t have been okay. It’s especially pathetic to smear Bush that way after he gave her such a great tip and took the time to take a picture with her.

He deserved better than that.
