Reporter Tries To Corner Cruz With ‘Gotcha’ Question About Refugees – He Wasn’t Having It [Video]

Presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz challenged Pres. Barack Obama to a debate over the Syrian refugee issue and to have the courage to “insult me to my face.” Like Barack Obama ever would, because, you know, he’s busy golfing and stuff…but OK:

CNN reported, “On Monday, Obama didn’t mention Cruz by name, but blasted his proposal to bar Muslim Syrian refugees from the U.S. and allow in only Christian Syrians.”

“When I hear political leaders suggesting that there would be a religious test for which a person who is fleeing from a war-torn country is admitted, when some of those folks themselves come from families who benefited from protection when they were fleeing political persecution, that’s shameful, that’s not American,” Obama said as he was attending a meeting of the G20 in Antalya, Turkey.

The president kept going after the Republican candidates on Wednesday during a stop in the Philippines. “Apparently, they are scared of widows and orphans coming into the United States of America,” he said.

Cruz responded to Obama in an interview on Wednesday stating, “I would encourage you, Mr. President, if you want to insult me, come back and insult me to my face.”

I wouldn’t want to try to insult Ted Cruz to his face if I were Obama, because I know I would lose that battle of wits with him. Not too good of a move there, Obama. Looks like you picked the wrong person to mess with.
