Bad news for Huma Abedin and Hillary Clinton has surfaced. It looks like Huma may have committed perjury in court and to the FBI. She testified that she did not back up the emails having to do with national security and Hillary Clinton to Weiner’s laptop, but documents now indicate that is exactly what she did. The Daily Mail is the one who reported this. An examination by DailyMail.com of emails released by the State Department shows that backup copies of many of Abedin’s work-related messages with Clinton were created after Clinton left the State Department in early 2013. This is a huge legal detail and could put Abedin behind bars.
The emails in question were released in December and they show that they had been put on Weiner’s laptop by a BlackBerry archiving program. Huma would have had to activate that archive program herself. She probably plugged her BlackBerry into the laptop. That’s another detail that is going to have her in even hotter water. Comey cleared Abedin of wrongdoing, but we all know what that is worth now. It’s a virtual certainty that investigators will go after Huma on this. Just this last week, the Department of Justice announced it is looking into Clinton’s email investigation once more. The FBI’s Inspector General is also looking into it
This will again draw questions to Comey’s actions. The emails were discovered by the FBI just weeks before the 2016 election when the agency seized Weiner’s laptop. Judicial Watch has been a legalistic pit bull in all this and they are going to bring Abedin to account for those emails one way or another. The President is also calling for prosecution here. The latest bunch of emails were released at the end of last week which show that they were on Weiner’s laptop because they had been backed up from another device.
You would think that the FBI agents that were examining the evidence of these emails discovered on Weiner’s laptop would have noticed they were backed up to the device. Ignorance is not a defense here. It’s their job to catch things like this and in fact, it looks as though they willfully ignored evidence.
Abedin told FBI investigators that she did not have a method of preserving the emails she exchanged on a private server with Clinton. That was a lie. “Abedin stated that she lost most of her old emails as a result of the transition [from the State Department]. She had only accessed clintonemail.com through a web portal and did not have a method for archiving her old emails prior to the transition,” said notes taken during an FBI interview of Huma Abedin on April 5, 2016.
Abedin gave a similar response when she was deposed under oath by attorneys from Judicial Watch on June 28, 2016. “With respect to those State Department work-related emails on the Clintonemail.com accounts, what did you do, if anything, to preserve those emails?” asked an attorney with Judicial Watch, according to a transcript of the deposition. Abedin responded that she “did not do anything to preserve those emails.” It looks like Huma perjured herself more than once here. “The instances where it was Clintonemail to Clintonemail, there were instances where the content of those emails had personal matters in there, and there may have also been State Department matters in there, too. It was a – a combination. But I did not – I did not preserve those e-mails,” added Abedin.
Abedin has already testified that she just left all her emails from her Clinton account in her inbox when she left the State Department. She denied deleting any emails. Huma claimed that she did not know how the emails got on Weiner’s laptop, which is funny because she had to physically put them there. The messages were archived from ‘BBB Backup’ and ‘LoaderBackup’ from a BlackBerry Bold 9700. The emails released by the State Department included at least five messages from Abedin that were marked ‘Classified’ and were found on Weiner’s laptop. The government classifies information at that level when its exposure “reasonably could be expected to cause damage to national security.” The classified messages included discussions on Israel and other Middle Eastern issues from 2010, 2011 and 2012.
I would say this is very damning and that Huma Abedin could wind up behind bars just like her hubby. Couldn’t happen to a more deserving person… unless of course it was Hillary Clinton.
