El Chapo Escapes Again… After Fire Fight with Mexican Marines [Video]

Looks like El Chapo got away… again. Drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman was surrounded at a ranch by Mexican Marines on a tip from US DEA agents. There was a fire fight, but El Chapo escaped on an ATV. It is said that he was wounded in the leg and the face as he fled. There is also a new release of the video of his escape from jail, this time with audio. In it, you can hear a loud radio and hammering. Gee, I wonder why no guards checked that out? In fact, it took the guards 28 minutes to even check on El Chapo at all. By then, he was long gone. He must have paid the guards very well. He’s a slippery old devil. I doubt he’ll be caught.

El Chapo

From NBC News:

Fugitive drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman is suffering from injuries to his leg and face as he continues to elude Mexican authorities.

The Mexican government confirmed Guzman’s injuries early Saturday after NBC News reported he had been hurt during a near-miss last week.

Mexican Marines zeroed in on the Sinaloa cartel kingpin after U.S. drug agents intercepted cell phone signals suggesting “El Chapo” was hiding at a ranch near Cosala in the rugged Sierra Madre mountains in western Mexico, according to three sources with knowledge of the operation.

Marines raided the ranch in helicopters, but were forced to turn back after taking fire from suspected Guzman security forces. The Marines later entered the camp on foot and discovered cell phones, medication and two-way radios, but Guzman and his accomplices are believed to have fled on ATVs.

In the course of his “hasty escape,” Guzman suffered injuries to “one leg and his face,” according to the National Security Cabinet.

Authorities gave chase and believed to have encircled the fugitive within a two-mile radius. But a week and a half after the raid, officials are losing hope that Guzman’s capture is imminent.

The massive manhunt continues amid new revelations about Guzman’s escape from a maximum-security prison in Altiplano in July. Prison security video previously made public but without audio was published again Thursday with sound by the Mexican network Televisa. Loud hammering can be heard on the footage before Guzman rises from his cot and slips through a hole in the cell floor into a tunnel beneath the prison.

The security footage shows that 28 minutes pass from the time Guzman disappears down the hole until guards raise the alarm that the drug lord is not in his cell. Nine more minutes elapse before a guard enters the cell and pursues Guzman through the hole.

Just a side note… the Mexican Marines look a lot like US Marines. I can’t tell the difference. That’s disturbing. The Marines thought they had the ranch in the Sierra Madre mountains surrounded, but it wasn’t good enough. After heavy gun-play, they got away. The Marines raided the hold out in helicopters and found cell phones, medicine and two-way radios in the mix after they fled. Last I heard, El Chapo just put a $100 Million bounty on Donald Trump’s head. Another great reason to shut down that border. Evidently Trump is hurting El Chapo’s business. “He was mad. He wants Donald Trump dead and will pay any amount of money if meant he could have Donald Trump’s head,” an anonymous inmate reportedly said. When the kingpin escaped, the GOP front-runner released a statement saying that “corrupt Mexican officials obviously let him go a second time.” El Chapo, who’s considered one of the world’s most powerful drug traffickers, escaped prison in 2001 and was only recaptured last year, according to MSNBC. El Chapo needs to be taken out… but a lot of people love him and his money, so the dance goes on.
