Debbie Wasserman Schultz Literally Says the Opposite of What She Means

Don’t you hate it when people use the word “literally” to mean literally the opposite of literally? One of the worst offenders against the English language in this regard is the Chairmoonbat of the DNC, Debbie Wasserman Schultz. CNS News extracts a few examples from her hyperbolic ravings:

Wasserman Schultz … recently backed off her accusation that Republicans “want to literally drag us all the way back to Jim Crow laws.”

In an interview on Sunday, she also said Republicans “are literally just throwing a barrier in the way of someone who is trying to exercise their right to vote [by taking measures to prevent voter fraud].”

She clarified the comment.

“Jim Crow was the wrong analogy to use,” Wasserman Schultz told CNN.

It wasn’t a psychotic interlude but merely a mendacious analogy. She was speaking figuratively, which is the opposite of literally. But it’s hardly unusual for Dems to say the exact antithesis of what they really mean.

Here she is on Paul Ryan’s plan to save the government from insolvency:

“This plan would literally be a death trap for some seniors,” Wasserman Schultz said.

This must mean that it would save some seniors’ lives. It probably would.
