It’s Time For Eric Holder To Resign

There are Americans dead because the Obama Administration funneled guns to Mexican criminals for reasons that have never been fully explained. Moreover, even the inadequate explanations we’re getting aren’t true. Eric Holder has apparently perjured himself.

New documents obtained by CBS News show Attorney General Eric Holder was sent briefings on the controversial Fast and Furious operation as far back as July 2010. That directly contradicts his statement to Congress.

On May 3, 2011, Holder told a Judiciary Committee hearing, “I’m not sure of the exact date, but I probably heard about Fast and Furious for the first time over the last few weeks.”

Yet internal Justice Department documents show that at least ten months before that hearing, Holder began receiving frequent memos discussing Fast and Furious.

Eric Holder is now claiming he misunderstood the question when he perjured himself, but that seems to be plainly contradicted by his statement.

That means it’s time for Eric Holder to resign and it’s time for a special prosecutor to get involved. Although I’m not a big fan of special prosecutors, when the Attorney General is lying under oath to Congress in a case where the DOJ has gotten American citizens killed, it seems like the right time for one.

Hopefully, we’ll see congressional Republicans, Republican presidential contenders, and even Democrats with a conscience calling for Holder to resign this week.

It’s time for him to go.
