Donald Trump Just DESTROYED Michelle Obama’s Legacy! Officially Announces an End To…

President Trump is going to do away with Michelle Obama’s legacy program, ‘Let Girls Learn’. It is a girls education program that targets underprivileged girls abroad through the Peace Corps. Frankly, I support this discontinuation. Those funds should be spent in the US, not abroad. It’s not that I don’t feel for these children, but for too long, we have thrown money around the world instead of tending to our own needs. I think that is Trump’s intention here. Bonus, it will tick Mooch off.

The program is being terminated immediately according to the director of the Peace Corps. The Peace Corps has always struck me as a progressive tool with communist underpinnings. It puts Americans at risk. I’m sure it does help some abroad, but wouldn’t that good be better put to use if these people wanted to go into blighted areas here at home? The left will decry Trump over this, but I totally get his reasoning here and I agree with it.

President Trump plans to end ‘Let Girls Learn,’ former first lady Michelle Obama’s girls education program, according to a Monday CNN report.

“Moving forward, we will not continue to use the Let Girls Learn brand or maintain a stand-alone program,” an email from Peace Corps acting director Sheila Crowley to employees reportedly reads.

The Trump administration gave order to cease the program’s operation immediately, according to an internal document obtained by CNN.

Aspects of ‘Let Girls Learn’ will continue, although the brand name of the program will no longer be used.

The Obamas started the program in 2015. It aimed to increase educational opportunities for young girls in developing countries.

“‘Let Girls Learn’ provided a platform to showcase Peace Corps’ strength in community development, shining a bright light on the work of our Volunteers all over the world,” Crowley continued. “We are so proud of what ‘Let Girls Learn’ accomplished and we have all of you to thank for this success.”

CNN was quick to get this out there to smear President Trump. I don’t think it will be seen the way they think it will be. Not by most Americans anyway. News of the program’s end came the same day President Donald Trump’s Agriculture Secretary, Sonny Perdue, was visiting an elementary school in suburban Virginia to announce changes to another initiative spotlighted by the former First Lady, healthy school lunches. Another program Americans will be delighted to see go away.

“Let Girls Learn” was an inter-governmental initiative run primarily by the Peace Corps and the United States Agency for International Development. A spokesman for the Peace Corps said Monday the agency would continue its efforts toward girls’ education. The ending of the program comes as Melania Trump begins to define her own platform as First Lady. While she hasn’t formally announced an official platform, women’s empowerment and access to education for women and girls is emerging as a key area of importance for her growing East Wing. Melania’s efforts are sure to be more effective than Michelle’s were. Rumor has it Michelle Obama will work on this issue in the private sector. Go for it and for the love of all that is holy, stay out of politics. In John Hawkins’ New book, ‘101 Things All Young Adults Should Know’, he teaches in number 85 of the book, “You are not a victim.” Helping girls like this is a noble thing, but what would be even better is to teach them not to be victims like John Hawkins’ book does. Empower, not entitle.
