Ivanka Trump Breaks Silence – Reveals Role in White House [VIDEO]

This is what I expected. Ivanka Trump and the other Trump children will be running Donald Trump’s empire while he is president. So, she will not be an official part of his administration. But as far as counsel goes, you can bet that not only Ivanka, but her siblings will have input and their father will listen. They will function as unofficial consiglieres of the White House.

Ivanka says she wants to be a daughter first. Given her closeness to her father, I absolutely believe that. She is still passionate about certain issues such as women’s rights, wage equality and childcare and you can bet that those issues will resonate with her father. Both Ivanka and Trump claim that it doesn’t matter if the brutal campaign that was just waged hurts the Trump brand.

Ivanka Trump vowed she would not become a part of her father’s administration in an interview aired on Sunday.

The former model and businesswoman, who was a regular sight on her father’s campaign trail, said she just wanted to concentrate on ‘being a daughter’.

She took part in the 60 Minutes interview along with her half-sister Tiffany, their brothers Eric and Donald Jr and the future first couple.

Ivanka, 35, told host Lesley Stahl she was ‘very passionate’ about advocating for women – ‘but not in a formal administrative capacity’.

‘I’m going to be a daughter. But I’ve – I’ve said throughout the campaign that I am very passionate about certain issues. And that I want to fight for them,’ she said.

‘Wage equality, childcare. These are things that are very important for me.’

She said she was ‘very passionate’ about education and promoting ‘more opportunities for women’.

Residents of Trump Tower are not amused by all of this increased fame. They want to move out after protesters started squatting on their doorstep. At Trump Place in New York City, a petition was floated to have Trump’s name removed from the building. Bookings at Trump’s hotels have fallen a whopping 59 percent in the first half of this year. But Trump and Ivanka both are putting it in perspective: “This is so much more important and more serious. And so I – you know, that’s the focus,” Ivanka said on 60 Minutes. “I think what Ivanka’s trying to say, “Who cares? Who cares?” This is big league stuff. This is our country,” her father continued. “Our country is going bad. We’re going to save our country. I don’t care about hotel occupancy. It’s peanuts compared to what we’re doing.”

Ivanka has softened Trump’s image in many ways and she has been a calming influence for him. Many believe she is the greatest asset he has. But she’s also a tough business woman and a wife and mother. She brings a lot to the table. It will be interesting to see how she influences her father during his presidency.
