Navajo Code Talker Fires Back at People Offended by Trump’s ‘Pocahontas’ Comment With a Scorcher

Is the whole “Pocahontas” debacle yet another example of white liberals trying to be upset and offended on someone else’s behalf? That’s what it’s beginning to look like. First, we have a direct descendant of Pocahontas herself saying that it’s not the least bit offensive when Trump invokes the name of her ancestor, even if it is meant to insult a sitting member of Congress.

Now we have the Navajo Code Talkers telling people that they just need to calm the heck down and stop trying to make everything a racial issue.

During his speech honoring the veterans who helped us win the war, Trump threw in an instinctual jab at Elizabeth Warran, a progressive lawmaker who claims Native American heritage and cites her cheekbones as evidence.

“I just want to thank you because you are very, very special people,” he said. “You were here long before any of us were here. Although, we have a representative in Congress who has been here a long time, longer than you, they call her ‘Pocahontas.'”

The press had a field day with that and even asked Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders about the comments, and got a very typical response from her.

“I think what most people find offensive is Senator Warren lying about her heritage to advance her career,” Sanders retorted. And she was absolutely correct. It’s offensive that someone with no more than a drop of native blood in her would use that as a way to get ahead. Not entirely surprising, but disappointing nonetheless.

So to settle the case, reporter Joshua Greene got in contact with one of the Navajos, Thomas Begay, who was at the ceremony to get his opinion on the situation. He gave an extremely non-PC answer that is probably going to further anger liberals, if they even acknowledge it as legitimate.

He said that while the comment “puzzled” him, he wasn’t offended by the use of “Pocahontas” to take a dig at Warren.

“The Marines made us yell ‘Geronimo’ when we jumped out of planes and that didn’t offend me either,” he continued.

So, like I said at the beginning of this piece, this looks like yet another situation where white liberals are trying to show off their “tolerance” by being offended on the behalf of others who apparently can’t defend themselves in the media.

How terribly annoying. They are capable of speaking for themselves and expressing what offends them. They don’t need you to do it for them.
