Here’s Why Hillary Didn’t Give a Speech Last Night [VIDEO]

Typically, when an election is over and all the votes have been tallied, the losing candidate gives a concession speech. But that wasn’t the case for Hillary Clinton. When it became clear that she was going to lose to Donald Trump, she sent campaign chair John Podesta to speak to her supporters instead. But the question is… why?

Podesta tried to rally his troops. “I know you’ve been here a long time and it’s been a long night and it’s been a long campaign, but I can say, we can wait a little longer, can’t we?” he said. “We’re still counting votes and every vote should count. Several states are too close to call, so we’re not going to have anything more to say tonight. She is not done yet. … Let’s get the votes counted and bring this home!”

Is that why Hillary Clinton refused to concede? There was always the possibility that the results of the election could be dragged out for months and months, like it was in 2000 with Bush/Gore. Was she planning on contesting Trump’s win?

In this case, no. Hillary remained in her New York hotel room as her dreams and ambitions were destroyed before her. It’s suspected that she just couldn’t handle facing the entire world and admitting that she had failed. She called Trump at around 2:30 am to concede defeat.

And today, she had her public concession speech. The Hillary Clinton campaign is officially over, as is, presumably, her political career.

Now that the election is finally over, regardless of how we all feel about the results, we can now get to the most important part and that’s healing the rift between Americans. This has been one of the most angry, hate-filled, divisive election seasons ever and now it’s time to put all of that behind us and move forward.
