The Southern Poverty Law Center’s Hate Map

Remember Floyd Lee Corkins, the activist who showed up at the Family Research Council with a gun and some food from Chick-fil-A, planning to kill conservatives and stuff chicken sandwiches in their mouths for the greater glory of the gay agenda? Fortunately he was stopped by a security guard, who not so fortunately was shot in the incident. Corkins found his way to FRC’s offices with the help of the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Hate Map:

Co-founder of the Southern Poverty Law Center Morris Dees said his group’s “Hate Map” “doesn’t cause anybody to attack,” despite Floyd Lee Corkins’ admission that he targeted the Family Research Council (FRC) after going to the center’s website. …

Corkins attempted a mass shooting on Aug. 15, 2012, opening fire at the Family Research Council and wounding Security Guard Leo Johnson.

Armed with more than 95 rounds of ammunition and 15 Chick-fil-a sandwiches, Corkins told the FBI that he chose the FRC as his first target after looking at a list of “anti-gay” groups on the SPLC’s website.

The Family Research Council is still listed on the Southern Poverty Law Center’s “Hate Map” as “anti-gay.”

For a moment I thought Michael Moore had snuck up behind me to break wind after devouring a bucket of anchovies, but it was just the smell of hypocrisy. What about the infamous Sarah Palin “crosshairs” map targeting Gabby Giffords for electoral defeat, which SPLC explicitly blamed for her shooting, despite the near certainty that the schizophrenic leftie who pulled the trigger never saw the map?

“I’m not familiar with it, I’m not familiar with what you’re talking about there,” Dees said. “You’re way off my base there.”

Anyone believe him?
