ObamaCare Hits Red States Hardest

Obama’s approach to governing is simple. In his own words: “We’re gonna punish our enemies and we’re gonna reward our friends.” This applies to everything his administration imposes, including ObamaCare. Those who vote for a living are rewarded with cheap or even free healthcare. Normal middle class Americans get screwed. Woe to those from red states:

In red states, premiums for 27-year-olds rose an average of 78% on ObamaCare exchanges, whereas in “blue states” that voted for Obama, premiums rose a smaller 50%.

Maybe it isn’t conscious malice, but just the abrupt shift from freedom to rigid regulation. But then, under this government, differentiating malice from regulation is a distinction without a difference.

“Think about it this way, what does ObamaCare do? ObamaCare imposes a one-size-fits-all regulatory scheme upon the insurance market. So if you’re in a lightly regulated state today, all of a sudden it’s going from a lightly regulated system to a heavily regulated system, and that drives up a lot of the costs,” Avik Roy, a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute who specializes in health policy, told FoxNews.com.

That’s why we used to have a federal system. Those who wanted to be micromanaged by fascistic bureauweenies could live in New York or California; the rest could live in relatively free states like Texas. Then we could see whose way works better.

But we already know whose way works better. That’s why liberalism has to be imposed nationwide, Tenth Amendment be damned.
