When Police Officers Working a WNBA Game Saw This, They Walked Off the Job

You would think athletes and celebrities would be grateful to have police officers keeping them safe at events. But when some WNBA players had a funny way of expressing their gratitude, four police officers walked off the job.

From the Daily Caller:

Players wore warmup uniforms that said, “Change Starts With Us. Justice & Accountability” written on the front and “Black Lives Matter” on the back, which caused the four police officers to quickly leave, according to the Star Tribune.

President of the Minneapolis Police Federation Lt. Bob Kroll supported the police officers’ actions, saying: “I commend them for it.”

He also indicated that other police officers may follow suit. “If [the players] are going to keep their stance, all officers may refuse to work there,” Kroll said.

It would be interesting to see if the WNBA supports what the players did, or if they’ll issue an apology and reprimand them. And until an apology is issued, police officers absolutely should refuse to act as security at their games.
