Hoop Skirts Banned as Racist

As the need to find examples of “racism” to punish becomes increasingly desperate on the part of our liberal rulers, it is ever more of a challenge not to accidentally fall into thought crime. Remember: ignorance of the law is no excuse for breaking it. That is why you need to stay on top of the latest aspect of our society slated for obliteration on the grounds of being racist. Today it is hoop skirts:

Hoop skirts will go the way of Confederate uniforms as special-event attire for Greek organizations at the University of Georgia [UGA] — into the past.

The hoop skirt ban came after UGA Student Affairs administrators met Monday with some UGA fraternity and sorority leaders, including representatives of the UGA chapters of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Kappa Alpha fraternities, both of which have deep roots in the Southern Confederacy.

Acknowledging the Confederacy is of course a thought crime. As mentioned, Confederate uniforms are already banned, and you can imagine the outrage if educrats saw a Confederate flag. But those who do the banning must always go farther…

“A standard aspect of event planning for Greek organizations is that costuming for events must be evaluated as to its appropriateness,” read an email sent out Tuesday by Ashley Merkel, president of UGA’s Panhellenic Council, and Alex Bosse, president of the Interfraternity Council. “The student leadership, staff and advisors agree that Antebellum hoop skirts are not appropriate in the context of some events.”

“Some events” is apparently a reference to a video the media got ahold of that showed rowdy frat boys from the University of Oklahoma using the forbidden N-word. The resulting contrived firestorm has fraternities throughout the country falling over themselves to prove they are not thought criminals, lest fraternities themselves be declared racist and banned, each coward hoping that the crocodile will eat him last rather than taking a stand against this nauseating form of totalitarianism.

Regarding the hoop skirt ban, UGA’s vice president for student affairs Victor Wilson barks:

“We’ve made a lot of progress. This is just one more step. We applaud our students for being courageous [!!!] and making a tough call.”

Progress toward what? Politically correct absolutism.

When this has been achieved, no one will be aware that there was such a thing as the South. Culturally and historically, the liberal Northeast will extend all the way to the Rio Grande.
