Trangender Muslim banned Until He Dresses Like a Man or Proves He’s a Woman

In this case, I don’t blame the mosque in Tempe for this. Either you are a man or a woman, make up your damned mind. You can’t be both and if you are one or the other, prove it. And this idiot is a wannbe Black Lives Matter impersonator. Men are not allowed in Islam to pray with the women. So, of course, the women are onto this and complaining about it. This weirdo started being a woman in 2011. She converted to Islam in 2013 – what kind of screwed up nut goes transgender and then converts to Islam? Note to Dawud – the penalty for what you are doing in Islam is death. Do you have a death wish? This person is a fruitcake.

Via Phoenix Sun Times:

Leaders of a Tempe mosque have decided that if congregant Sumayyah Dawud wants to continue attending prayers and other community functions at the Islamic Community Center, she must either dress and pray as a man or provide medical documentation that she is anatomically female.

Though Dawud was born male, she has been legally female since 2011 & her Arizona driver’s license and U.S. passport list her as such. She converted to Islam in 2013 and, until recently, says no one has raised any questions about her identity.

But earlier this summer, a handful of her fellow community members went to the ICC board of directors with concerns that she was not actually female and said having her pray with them in the women’s section made them uncomfortable.

(Dawud is not sure exactly what prompted these people to approach the board, but she suspects it has something to do with her increasingly public image as a left-wing activist and the feeling among many in the Muslim community that protesting is not “the Islamic way of doing things.”)

Dawud has many protesting videos here.

I can’t even bear to watch Dawud’s videos. I wouldn’t know whether to laugh or cry over them. Being transgender and Muslim is incompatible. Someone should have told her that before she decided to commit her life to Allah. This is not an inappropriate investigation – the mosque has every right to question this and make their decision over gender. It is part of their religious beliefs. If Dawud doesn’t like it, she can join another religion. Freedom of religion is for all, not just those who want to bully their way into that religion despite their behavior. As far as Dawud being humiliated by all this, isn’t she long past that hurdle? How do you humiliate yourself more than she already has? Islamic law is not going to be on her side. I say ‘she’ and ‘her’ only because I’m tired of using both gender descriptors. This is another sign of moral decay that is attacking all religions.
