When the attendees at the 2016 GOP convention started chanting “Lock her up! Lock her up! Lock her up!” the speaker on stage agreed. “Lock her up. That’s right,” retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn concurred.
Flynn, who’s been an outspoken critic of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, provoked the crowd to chant their belief that she should be in jail instead of running for president when he stated, “We do not need a reckless president who believes she is above the law.”
Following the crowd’s chant that the former secretary of state should be put away for mishandling classified information, Flynn said he uses the hashtag “never Hillary” and added that he has “called on Hillary Clinton to drop out of the race because she put our nation’s security at extremely high risk with her careless use of a private email server.”
“Lock her up. Lock her up. … You’re exactly right,” Flynn said. “There’s nothing wrong with that.” He explained, “If I did a tenth of what she did, I would be in jail today. So crooked Hillary Clinton, leave this race now,” Flynn emphatically implored. “She needs to go,” he added.
