SINKING SHIP? Mueller Probe Team Starts Leaking Special Counsel Investigation Details to Press

A team put in charge of investigating possible connections between President Trump’s election campaign and Russian interests appear to be leaking details out to the press. Further, these details appear to be chosen specifically to damage Trump’s reputation.

The Special Counsel was brought on by former FBI Director Robert Mueller in June of this year and has been leading the Russian investigation.

As reported in Axios, Mueller recently hired on six new lawyers.

The people he’s hired don’t just look tough on paper — they’re legal experts with unique, complementary strengths who have fought and investigated crime all around the world. Their expertise suggests how Mueller views this investigation and the direction in which he is hoping to take it.

As for the leak itself, Breitbart has been attempting to get to the bottom of the story:

The leak comes the day after Trump told the New York Times in an interview that delving into his business matters would be outside the bounds of the Russia investigation.

“The Special Counsel’s Office has undertaken stringent controls to prohibit unauthorized disclosures that deal severely with any member who engages in this conduct,” Joshua Stueve, spokesman for the Special Counsel’s Office told Breitbart News in an email response.

So, why would these new hires come at the same time that crucial, anti-Trump details are being sent out to the media?

Breitbart gives the fastest breakdown on the new hires and why we ought to be suspicious:

James Quarles donated almost $33,000 to Democrats, including Clinton and former President Barack Obama. Jeannie Rhee donated more than $16,000 since 2008 to Democrats, including the maximum donation possible to Clinton in both 2015 and 2016. She has also donated to Obama. Andrew Weissmann donated more than $4,000 to Obama in 2008 and $2,000 to the DNC in 2006, and Elizabeth Prelogar donated $250 each to Clinton in 2016 and Obama in 2012.

In June, when they were first hired on, several Republicans on the House Oversight Committee called for their own investigation into the Special Counsel for “acting in a partisan manner and applying double standards when it came to the Obama and Trump administrations.”
