Not really. It’s the same motive they always have. To kill the infidel, to strike a blow at the Great Satan, to implement a world wide Caliphate, and to bring down the best country in the history of the world.
A man accused of trying to detonate a car bomb in Times Square spent a decade on the path to respectability before abandoning his house in Connecticut and deciding to supplement his business degrees with explosives training in Pakistan, authorities say.
That, in fact, seems to be the narrative from the MSM, namely, that he was such a good boy, then he went bad for some unknown reason, which will surely end up being about Bush and the Iraq war. The NY Times, a different AP story, and many others are pushing to understand how such a good boy could go so wrong. Perhaps they all could do a little investigative work into radical Islam, and broadcast how the extremists recruit and brainwash Muslims into becoming jihadis.

Remember the good old days when the Times and others would have blamed George Bush personally for not being on the ground himself, watching the suspect 24/7? Now we get very even toned stories that work hard to make sure no blame splatters the White House.
