A Deer Jumps in Front Of Their Car…When They Realize What She’s Carrying.

It’s scary – and very dangerous – when a deer jumps out in front of your car.  But when the deer is pregnant?

As CBC News reports, two Canadian police officers were driving down the road in the early hours of the morning when a deer unexpectedly jumped out in front of them.

When the officers turned around to investigate they noticed something different about the deer, who — unfortunately — did not survive the collision. The doe had a fawn trying to kick it’s way out of her stomach.

It appears that the accident caused her to go into labor, and thankfully the new police officer saw the fawn trying to kick out.  The officers saved the fawn and, with the exception of a tail injury, didn’t suffer any broken bones. A wildlife rehabilitation shelter is going to rehab her and send her back into the wild to live her life. 🙂
