CNN Host: Attacking Dallas Police HQ ‘Very Courageous and Brave’

Lately in politics, we’re usually pretty quick to jump on someone for saying something stupid on cable news.  This has to have just been a mistake though.  There is no way a news anchor could be this callous in covering a police shooting…

Whitfield, while discussing the shooting with legal analyst Philip Holloway, said, “It was very courageous and brave, if not crazy as well, to open fire on the police headquarters, and now you have this scene, this standoff. So you believe these are the hallmarks of more than one person’s involvement?”

I’m willing to give her the benefit of the doubt because *I think* I know what she meant, and sometimes sentences sound better in your head than they do when you say them out loud. But she and CNN should really apologize because, c’mon now.
