The results across the three towns on the Republican side are businessman Donald Trump, Ohio Gov. John Kasich, and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz each received 9 votes. On the Democrat side, Sen. Bernie Sanders garnered 17 and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton took 9.

The results are somewhat consistent with a trends seen in the last poll conducted going into Election Day, which showed Trump still leading with 34 percent of the vote, but Kasich surging in the final days, moving into second place with 17 percent ahead of Sen. Marco Rubio’s 14 percent, and Cruz’s 10 percent.

Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign manager, David Plouffe, tweeted on Tuesday not to put too much credence in the Dixville Notch results, noting his candidate won the Notch, but lost the primary in New Hampshire.

It has begun and things are really starting to get exciting!
