Two men a Michigan sheriffs are labeling ‘cowards’ stole a cellphone from a cerebral palsy sufferer, beat him, recorded the brutal assault on his device and then posted it to his Facebook page. Just when you think people can’t get any worse, they do:

Nikey Dashone Walker and Shadeed Dontae Bey were arrested following the Sunday morning attack in a stairwell at the victim’s apartment complex in Pontiac, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department said.

‘Preying on those in our community who suffer from disabilities will not be tolerated and furthermore, to have the audacity to post their actions on the victim’s page is beyond belief,’ Sheriff Michael Bouchard said in a statement. Police have released video of the attack.

The 53-second cellphone clip is difficult to watch. It shows what appears to be one of the suspects kicking the 23-year-old victim in the stomach with his foot.

He then continues to mercilessly punch and stomp on the disabled man as he cowers barefoot on the floor, desperately trying to shield his face and head from the blows raining down on him.

The expletive-filled footage concludes with the suspects running down the stairs. One of the last images seen in the video is that of the victim’s limp body stretched out on the concrete floor outside his unit.

Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies were called at 8.30am on Sunday to the Phoenix Place Apartments, where they discovered the victim bleeding in the hallway in front of his apartment, reported The Detroit News.

The man told deputies two attackers forced their way into his home, stole his cellphone and when he followed them to try and get the device back, they beat him unconscious.

Sheriff Bouchard credited the work of his investigators for bringing ‘these two cowards to justice’.

Investigators said they were told the suspects also posted the video of the beating to their own Facebook pages.

The victim’s phone, which was taken while he was inside his apartment, was found at the home of one of the suspects, the department said.

The 20-year-old suspects were arraigned Tuesday on charges of home invasion, unarmed robbery and assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, and ordered held on $25,000 bond ahead of a December 8 court date.

Both suspects have prior criminal records. If convicted, Walker and Bey could face up to 10 years in prison.

What a couple of low-life jerks. These guys have a special place in hell waiting for them when they go. It takes a special kind of evil person to beat up and rob a disabled person. 10 years in prison is a slap on the wrist compared to what’s in store for them on the outside.
