Wendy’s employee leaves boy in tears after writing ‘Lil Ugly Dude’ on his receipt

What would you do if a woman was laughing at your child in front of all of her colleagues? Would you turn the other cheek?

Or would you turn her own cheek with your balled up fist!?

A mother of one child had to ask herself the same question after taking her son Quenterus Brown to a Wendy’s restaurant in Alabama last Monday.

This mother had asked her 15 year-old boy, who is mentally challenged, to go on up to the register to place his own order. It didn’t take long for him to return, but he returned running and in tears clutching a receipt.

Why?

It turns out the cashier, rather than asking for her son’s name, had written ‘Lil Ugly Dude’ on his receipt. If that wasn’t bad enough, that started a whole bunch of juvenile laughter from her fellow colleagues – and even her manager.

The mother, in a very enraged post to Facebook, Teeneshia wrote:

‘My child was so embarrassed and upset he said the whole store was laughing at him including the manager. I play about a lot of things but my kids isn’t one. My ghetto side was telling me to go back up there and let them have it. But I rather do it the right way.’

This post actually received over 2,000 shares – leading to Ed Sheffield, the director of management services at Wendy’s, issuing a statement on the outrageous incident.

He said:

‘Wendy’s has been a part of this community for many years, and we were certainly disappointed to learn that one of our employees treated a guest in such a rude manner. We take this seriously, and we no longer employ this individual. When we learned of the incident, we immediately contacted the guest. We apologized to the young man and his mother and look forward to welcoming them back to Wendy’s again.’
