Universities in the United States have become institutions of NO individual ideas and NO discussion. Across the nation rules are being made that are designed to exclude students personal ideals and opinions unless it promotes secularist ideals like this University who has banned students from thanking God in their graduation ceremonies.

Wouldn’t want to offend the left’s delicate sensibilities.

A professor at a public university in North Carolina forbade his students from thanking God in personal statements that will be delivered during their departmental graduation ceremony on Friday.

In an email obtained by Campus Reform, Assistant Professor Eli Hvastkovs, who teaches chemistry at East Carolina University (ECU), instructed his students to prepare a “family friendly” 35 word personal statement that mentions future plans or “thanks someone.” The students, however, were explicitly forbidden from thanking God.

“I’ve had some submissions that needed to be edited. so [sic] here are some guidelines,” the email reads. “1. You can’t thank God. I’m sorry about this — and I don’t want to have to outline the reasons why.”

Moses counsels Joshua in Deuteronomy 31:8 to be strong saying: And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed. Meaning that God would never forsake us. But we ask our graduates to forsake God. If you believe in God or do not believe in God but believe in anything… know that using an “institution of learning” as a tool to force people to turn their back on their belief system will be the ruin of our society. Telling men and women that they cannot honour their beliefs upon the most important day of their lives is no different than telling a person to deny their heritage. If God were a color or race instead of a Being, Professor Eli Hvastkovs would be considered a hateful racist… instead he’s ‘enlightened’.
