Chicago is awash in blood and death again. This last weekend, seven people were killed and at least 16 others were wounded. It just goes on and on. I wonder why more forceful steps haven’t been taken there. Hopefully President Trump at some point will send in the National Guard or figure out another way to stop the bloodbath. It’s not just shooting deaths… in the headlines was a 14 year-old boy raping a 15 year-old girl live on Facebook. That’s just one crime… they are increasing by the day and getting ever more heinous and vile. If Chicago isn’t hell, it substitutes very nicely.
One incident involved 20 year-old Courtney Lewis, who was shot twice in the back in his car and died over the weekend. One other passenger that was in the car was also shot in the back as well… he’s in critical condition. More… Pier Charvell Minor, 23, was sitting in his car when two men walked up and shot him in the head and chest, executing him before they fled the scene.
From Fox 32:
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) – Seven people were killed and at least 16 others were wounded in shootings across Chicago between Friday evening and Monday morning.
The weekend’s latest fatal shooting happened at 4:33 p.m. Sunday in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side, leaving two men dead and another four wounded. The six men were standing in a group in the 3500 block of West Van Buren when a white, four-door car, possibly a Chevrolet Impala, pulled up and multiple people got out and started shooting, according to Chicago Police.
Two of the men, 23-year-old Deonta Turner of Uptown, and 27-year-old Lemont Davis of Oak Park, were shot in the chest and were taken to Stroger Hospital, where they were pronounced dead just after 5 p.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
An 18-year-old man was shot in the chest; a 23-year-old man was shot in the back; and a 24-year-old man was shot in the chest, back and leg. They were all taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital. The sixth man, 26, suffered a gunshot wound in his right leg and was taken in good condition to Mount Sinai Hospital.
On Saturday, a 15 year-old boy was shot on the Northwest Side of Chicago. Diego Villada was in an alley at about 12:35 pm when he was confronted by two men and shot in the head. He never stood a chance and died later at a hospital. Another death occurred at 6:22 am on Saturday. Officers responded to a report of a burglary and found 34 year-old Terry D. Torrence in the doorway of a home on the far South Side. Torrence, who lived in the South Side Burnside neighborhood, had been shot in the head and buttocks and was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:09 am. And so it goes. On Friday, 21 year-old Timothy Shannon was killed in a South Chicago neighborhood. Officers responding to a call of a person shot, found him unresponsive with a gunshot wound to his back. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:12 pm, authorities said.
Last weekend, 32 people were shot and three died in the Windy City. Chicago has become one huge killing field, more lethal than areas in the Middle East. Where is the concern for the people and children of Chicago? There have been at least 148 homicides there this year alone. Isn’t it time to stop this?
