16 and Pregnant? Feminists Say Abort. On TV.

For those of you who don’t subject yourselves to the horror known as reality television, there is a show on Viacom’s MTv station, called “16 and Pregnant.” I have issues with the show, not the least of which is that it is a form of exploitation of teen girls— pregnant teen girls, to boot. Pregsploitation, if you will. The show also almost glamorizes teen pregnancy. While it is meant, supposedly, to show the hardships that result from a teen pregnancy, the greatest hardship usually shown is that the girls have to quit the cheer leading squad or not attend prom.

Yes, it might shine a light on a bit of reality for some girls, but for many teens it likely looks like fun. Look at her! She has a cute little baby and everyone is paying attention to her. Everyone is supporting her and making her feel special! The only thing that I find it truly shines a light on is how detrimental it can be when a Mommy decides to be best buddy to her daughter and not, you know, a Mother.

That aside, the one thing that I do like about the show is that every girl has the baby. Two decided to bless another family and chose adoption. The rest all kept their babies. The option of abortion did come up in conversation in a couple of the shows that I have seen and, in all cases, the girls said that wasn’t even an option for them. Wonderful news, right? Not if you are a feminist!

Feminists, like Jessica Valenti of Feministing, are lamenting the fact that the show doesn’t feature abortions. Sixteen year old girls. Having abortions. On television. That is what feminists want to see. Vile, Thy Name is Feminist. This is what Jessica Valenti had to say, in fact (emphasis hers):

Where are the pregnant teens who choose not to stay pregnant? Where are the abortions?

I realize that it’s controversial to document a teenager who decides to end their pregnancy, but the fact is that nearly a third of all teen pregnancies end in abortion. But if you were to watch MTV, you’d never know that — you’d think all young women choose to go through with the pregnancy…

If MTV really wanted to prove themselves as responsible programmers, they would also feature pregnant teens who have abortions.

Only to a feminist would the fact that one third of pregnancies in a demographic end in abortion be a plus and an attempted rationale for an insane argument. To anyone else, that’s a devastating and incredibly sad statistic. But, see, it’s not about The Children nor The Women to feminists. It’s entirely agenda driven. And their agenda, frankly, is Anti-Child and Anti-Woman. Motherhood? So old school and oppressive!:  Try a super cool and “empowering” abortion instead!

This is a blessing in disguise, however. Feminists continue to walk in Stepford Feminist lock-step, constantly extolling their delusional wonders of abortion, while the rest of the population now looks on in horror. And not just due to their hairstyles and their creepily smug faces, although that is part of it. But because the post-Roe generation sees through the lies. Pre-Roe, people were told abortion would be safe, legal and RARE. We now know that was a lie and there are over 50 million dead fetuses who can attest to that fact.

Medical advancements have proven that whole “life doesn’t begin until viability” falsehood as well. Women, and men, today can physically see weeks-old fetuses. They can see second trimester fetuses, legally allowed to be aborted on demand, in 3D. They see that they are unborn babies and not just a clump of cells. This is why, Jessica Valenti, the teen girls on “16 and Pregnant” “chose” to remain pregnant. And it is why more and more young people today are trending Pro-Life.

A commenter at Jessica Valenti’s blog actually had it right, although for the opposite reason than the one I’m sure she was shooting for (they are easily confused). She said this:

We may WANT abortion to be normal and not stigmatized, but it’s not. And the process of making it so should not depend on the use of teenage girls as soldiers on the front lines.

Feminists want the aborting of a child to be normal. But, guess what? It’s not. Motherhood is normal to humans, feminists, as is nurturing. Giving life yourself or nurturing life once given. That is within us; it’s instinct and female human nature. It is something of which to be proud and it should be honored, not diminished.

Teenage girls will not be your soldiers on your agenda driven and harmful front line. They are their own soldiers and, one day, their children’s soldiers. I know that is hard for you Feminists to believe, but women have minds of their own. They don’t fight for what they are told to fight for; they fight for what they believe, they fight for themselves and they fight for their families.

Your “front line” is being erased.:  Hopefully, one day your harmful agenda will go the way of the dinosaur (you like science stuff, right?) and we can take back the term Feminist, which you have bastardized beyond recognition.

You are already irrelevant, Feminists. But do you know who will never be irrelevant?

Moms.
