ALERT: Texas Navy Base on Lock Down, Bomb Crew Called In

According to WRLD, there is an alert out stating that Naval authorities in Fort Worth, Texas at a joint reserve base have told reporters that they are currently on complete lockdown. This is what we have learned so far.

A suspicious package that was found on the base a few hours ago. No estimate as to how long the base will remain secured but officials said that emergency crews have been rushed to the scene.

Naval Security Forces, including the 301 st Fighter Wing Explosive Ordnance Disposal team and a Disposal team have responded to the incident, a base spokesperson said in a press release.

Naval Security Forces, the 301st Fighter Wing Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team and the Fort Worth Police Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team are investigating, Krause said.
“Out of abundance of caution, the installation’s main gate will remain closed until further notice,” the base said. “The closure is for the safety of installation personnel and the surrounding local community, which is the Navy’s primary concern.”
