Most kids have a hard enough time with math, without adding the ridiculous Common Core methods to it. When asked how to make 10 by adding 8 and 5, one kid wasn’t having it.
The teacher’s explanation? Use subtraction to solve an addition problem. What we need now is common SENSE, not common CORE.
