State Trooper Tries To Issue Man A Ticket; Ends Up Saving His Life Instead

I don’t believe I’ve ever said this in my life, but thank God this man got pulled over when he did. It may have very well saved his life, and the lives of those on the road that day.

Ambulance Blur 2

From Conservative Tribune:

When State Trooper Patrick Ellis pulled over a speeding driver, the traffic stop started as any other, but its ending was completely unexpected.

Ellis wrote the driver, Michael Green, a ticket in his patrol car and walked back up to the stopped vehicle. What he saw when he returned to the driver changed everything.

The passenger next to Green was screaming hysterically, and Ellis quickly realized that Green was in trouble. The driver was hunched over the steering wheel, and he wasn’t moving or breathing, according to WXII in Greensboro.

The trooper quickly called for an ambulance. But Ellis knew he couldn’t just leave the man helpless until the emergency personnel responded, so he gave Green CPR until they arrived.

It turns out, Green had suffered a major heart attack right there on the side of the road. Ellis received word a few days later that Green was recovering in the hospital.

The quick-thinking and well-trained state trooper is now rightfully being hailed a hero because of his actions in saving Green’s life. He even received the Highway Patrol Samaritan Award for going above and beyond the call of duty to help someone in need.

“You always revert back to your training,” the trooper told WXII. “And at that point, I honestly didn’t know if what I was doing was the right thing, and it scared me and I was just as panicked as everyone else, but I knew I had to remain calm and keep the situation under control.”

Stories like this prove that cops are good people who want to help the community, debunking the current anti-cop rhetoric that seeks to paint these heroes as violent, power-hungry monsters.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a police officer go above and beyond to help someone in need — and it certainly won’t be the last.

What an absolute miracle.
