No Daily News Today

Unfortunately, my DSL was out last night and there were other issues beyond my control that fouled my schedule up horribly. Since that was the case, this is going to be one of those rare days that doesn’t feature any daily news. Sorry about that. It should be back up and running normally tomorrow.

James Webb Writes About Incest and Pedophilia

Back in September, I did a piece on some of the N-Bombs and bizarre sexual content in three of James Webb’s books, which to me, seemed to be pretty relevant. After all, the WAPO has been trying to make the fact that George Allen said the word, “Macaca,” which about 3 people had ever heard […]

The GOP’s Big Cash Advantage

The GOP does have at least two cards left to play in the closing weeks of the election. The first is their vaunted, “Get Out The Vote,” program. The second is their significant cash advantage over the Democrats. How big is it? Here are some details from the WAPO: “Despite a rush of campaign donations […]

Cheney Gets It By Matt Margolis

(Yesterday), Vice President Dick Cheney spoke at a rally for the 101st Airborne Division. Here’s an important part of the speech everyone ought to read: The terrorists know they cannot beat us in a stand-up fight. They never have. The only way they can win is if we lose our nerve and abandon our mission. […]

Air America Declares Bankruptcy

As you may have heard, Air America is going down the tubes: “So can the progressive radio network Air America recover from Friday’s bankruptcy filing, at which it detailed $41 million in losses since March 2004, $20.2 million in debts and just $4.3 million in assets? AA says yes, and it isn’t alone. “I think […]

More Than You Ever Wanted To Know About Cindy Sheehan

On the one hand, this is another one of those stories about the private lives of political activists — and stories like this are better left unreported. However, this news is going to be all over the place by the end of the day, so there’s no point in ignoring it. All I can say […]

The Rightroots Final Tally

When Rightroots went live on August 1 of this year, no one had really done anything like this before on the right side of the blogosphere and the conventional wisdom was that conservative blogs simply couldn’t raise money. So, truth be told, I was thinking that if we were able to raise $100,000 to $125,000 […]

Get Off Madonna’s Back Over This Adoption

Let me be the first to say that I’m not a big fan of Madonna, but it really blows my mind that so many people are beating her up for wanting to adopt a child: “MADONNA jetted back to Britain yesterday after her controversial tour of Malawi’s orphanages – but without the baby she has […]

The GOP’s Political Fortunes Take A Turn For The Worse

During this whole cycle, I’ve been more optimistic than most people about the GOP’s chances, but based on the last few batches of polls and the smell of desperation in the air, unfortunately, I have to tell you that it’s not looking so good. In the Senate right now, Santorum and Burns look like they’re […]

Question: “Serious question: If the democrats take back the house and senate – not a given, but definitely a possibility – who’s fault is it? Who do you blame it on? Enviro-Fascist Show Trials?

It looks like someone has gotten a little freaked out after watching, “The Day After Tomorrow,” one too many times: “A U.S. based environmental magazine that both former Vice President Al Gore (http://gristmill.grist.org/print/2006/9/19/11408/1106?show_comments=no) and PBS newsman Bill Moyers, for his October 11th global warming edition of “Moyers on America” titled “Is God Green?” (http://www.grist.org/news/maindish/2006/05/09/roberts/index.html) have […]
